In a large bowl, mix together ground chuck, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined. Avoid overmixing to keep burgers tender.

Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each into a patty. Create a small dimple in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking. Wet your hands with cold water to prevent sticking.

Cook patties on a preheated grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium heat. Flip carefully and cook to your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer: 130-135°F for medium-rare, 140-145°F for medium, and 160°F for well-done. Let rest before serving.

Place patties on hamburger buns and top with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and mayonnaise. Add other toppings, such as pickles or avocado, as desired. Toast buns for additional texture if preferred.
