Apple Maple Chicken Delight (Print Version)

Tender chicken simmered with maple and apples for a sweet, savory main. Ready in under 45 minutes.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 2 cups apples, cored and sliced (about 2 medium apples)
04 - ¼ cup maple syrup
05 - ½ cup chicken broth
06 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
07 - ½ teaspoon salt
08 - ¼ teaspoon black pepper
09 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
10 - 1 sprig fresh thyme (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
02 - Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add the sliced apples, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
04 - Pour in the maple syrup, chicken broth, and add the cinnamon. Stir to combine and let it bubble for about 2 minutes.
05 - Return the chicken to the skillet, nestling it among the apples. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
06 - If desired, drizzle the lemon juice over the chicken just before serving for added brightness. Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs if using, and serve warm on a platter.

# Notes:

01 - Serve this dish with a side of roasted vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
02 - Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
03 - Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup according to your preference.
